You bet!

This article shows that the ACLU are insane, they are fighting the background checks of the Victims of Katrina even as people welcome them into their houses, schools, and places of worsihp. It would be nice to know if you let a victim into your family's home if they had a past history of being a sex offender. Once again the ACLU sticks up for the rights of criminals at the expense of the citizen's right to be protected from them.

Where will the idiots in the ACLU be if it turns out some of the victims of Hurricane Katrina took advantage of the close quarters of a shelter to take advantage of a few kids.

Of course, they would be silent because in their sick little minds, pedophiles have a right to their alternative lifestyle.

I'm gonna go farther; I think there should be background checks on all aid applicants and anyone with an outstanding felony warrant rounded up.

Might sound cruel, but, as good ol' Columbo once said...

Mayor Nagin should be the first background checked here! The ONLY thing outstanding about him warrants investigation! ;~D

If I'm going to open my home to someone, I think that I should be aware of any criminal history they have.  I've had background checks done on babysitters who have watched my kids in their home, so there's no way I'd have a total stranger come live with me without first knowing what (if anything) their criminal history is.

I may be soft hearted, but I aint a sucker.

CNN has been running a constant list of missing kids from the whole Katrina scenario. A few days ago, they mentioned that there were thousands of sex offenders that haven't been able to register their whereabouts. Now, we are taking refugees into our homes.

IMHO, if the ACLU is successful in stopping any background check, and there are any problems, they are responsible for them. It's time to hold accountable those people who obstinantly stonewall people who are trying to protect their communities.

Agreed, Bakerstreet. ACLU employees should be forced to house ALL the refugees in their own homes and neighborhoods. When their valuables, their families, their lives are directly affected we can see how rigid their principles are.

Well, I've said that about all the parole boards, judges, ACLU and anyone else who sees no problem with pedophiles running free as long as they don't run free in THEIR neighborhoods.

If they had to face the pedophiles personally, maybe they wouldn't be released if they weren't ready! ;~D

Well Sweetie ..............Of course the ACLU would be fighting against the backround checks why wouldn't the ACLU fight against it remember they support NAMBLA for their freedom of speech rights. Nevermind the group is men having their twisted preverted ways with the children of this world and that it is illegal.

Now getting back to the point of backround checks of the victims. Many of these victims went back into lines to get more then one debit card ! (reminding us all of why welfare was reformed in the first place). Abuse Abuse Abuse of the system that is trying to assist in this tragic time.

It's disgusting it has nothing to due with race.......................... the race card comes in (to whine for more because of the prejudice white man trying to kill them with the magical weather machine)........because very few non african american individuals happened to be there or shown on the TV footage.

Another thing that amazes me is when people fight saying they are trying to survive when they see someone looting the TV's Diamonds ect....... Guess what people if your trying to survive Don't you think you hyjack one of the buses to get you and your family out???? or is it"nah man I can get money for the new TV"............. seriously?

Sure I feel bad for the victims of Katrina but be realistic here diamonds, plasma TV's , Fendi or Vuitton bags isn't going to house/feed their children.

But it's all ok........... because the wonderful open loving people have taken alot of these families in I am touched by it .......... personally would want a backround check. Which tell me which of these liberal extremists out there bashing this have victims in their homes???

It's NAMBLA: North American Man Boy Love Association.

Many of these victims went back into lines to get more then one debit card

And those that got one went and bought Louis Vuitton bags and got lap dances.

Sure I feel bad for the victims of KAtrina but be realistic here diamonds plasma TV's and Fendi Vutton bags isnt't going to house/feed their children.

But they don't see that, and that lack of foresight has a lot to do with why they're on welfare and living in the ghetto to begin with.

No. Poverty is caused by drug addiction and alcoholism, ignorance, laziness, criminal activity, irresponsible breeding, and an attitude of entitlement. Anyone who thinks that setting them up in a free shelter and handing them a wad of cash is going to make a lick of difference is just a farking idiot.

I read this book called The Losers by David Eddings that goes into the failures of the system of social services, everyone waiting for party time from the government and no one doing anything to better themselves or their situation.

It's disgusting it has nothing to due with race.......................... the race card comes in (to whine for more because of the prejudice white man trying to kill them with the magical weather machine)........because very few non african american individuals happened to be there or shown on the TV footage.

What's really scary is that they actually believe this nonsense. The black people believe that Bush doesn't care about them, and wants this to happen. To make it more rediculous they are beliving that Bush is somehow magically controlling the weather.

I wish that they would be challenged on this and other issues. Who does the ACLU think they are protecting when they are standing up for sex offenders. They'd rather that people house these preditors in their house without any check into their backgrounds. Oh these people suffered enough, they do not have to endure more humillation by a background check. I would love see if they held the same view if they were the ones who had to house them, and found out that their children playing with the man they housed is some sexual preditor.

It really amazes me that the ACLU would go about trying to fight for these criminal's "rights". It shouldn't amaze me but just the idea of it does. It just digusts me.

It is hard for me to understand how an organization like NAMBLA has a right to exist. To Me, this group brings harm to innocent children. Is that in itself enough to eliminate such an organization?

I'll bet any employee of the ACLU would "change their tune"{or even their job!} if they had a child that was a victim of these people they protect!
