Commentary about the Second Presidental Debate
Published on October 8, 2004 By mgosh In Politics
I am pleasantly pleased by the results of this debate. President Bush was able to articulate effectively what he was trying to convey across to the American people. Kerry was charismatic as always, but this time issues came up that he was unable to fully address. He kept concentrating upon the questions he liked and shy away from the questions that he felt was not helpful. Bush was able to stay more on topic and focus on the questions at hand. Plus he didn’t scowl this time.

I really think that Bush was more himself this time around. Instead of putting on a phony facade he came across more genuine and real and was a lot more comfortable about it. He wasn’t uptight and he seemed to be able to really connect with people.

Kerry has one more chance to actually take a stand on the issues at hand and to really come across upon what matters most to Americans. So far I see a snow job and I got a cold feeling from him. This debate solidified how I am voting more than the last two. The variety of issues really brought home what mattered to Americans today.

I completely agree Bush was on the offense only striking Kerry on the points that he fully knew being in office himself is Bull~!~How can one honestly think any President would choose war before trying to take the diplomatic route in some way. I feel Bush was strong in all his points and hit the ball back well. Kerry on the other hand enjoyed playing deflection on all the things he felt the President was doing wrong instead of utilizing his time fully breaking down what all these "plans" are he would be more appealling to some of these undecided voters if he created some charts like Perot did in 92 on how these "plans"will work without raising taxes across the board.

But of course the lawyer following in his Democratic former Pres foot~steps is too sly to be pinned down. Heh Did the man asking him to look into the camera and state he would not raise taxes actually beliee this solidifies it not to happen?
